My name is Jazzmine, and I am a prncss with a dash of country girl! I’m obsessed with fashion and beauty, and a lover of bikinis, self-care, summertime & nostalgia (I love the 70s and the 90s especially).

I grew up in a small town in southern Ontario, which I’ve grown to love despite never really fitting in. I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease when I was 15, but things didn’t really start going downhill until I got to college. By 2020 “going downhill” became nosediving to rock bottom and my life was changed forever.

I finally graduated college (yay!) after taking extra time to get through my program because of all of the health issues I was having, and then spent three weeks in the hospital (boo!) after having life-saving surgery. My body is much stronger and healthier than it has been in a long time, but I was left with some new challenges that I’ve had to learn to navigate. I had to let the old dreams and goals I had for my life and start all over again.

These days I’m working on building a career as a fashion designer and launching my own business, and getting back on my feet. I’m excited (and maybe a little scared too lol) to see where this new path takes me, and I’m learning to enjoy the journey in the meantime too!

My mission is to create a beautiful life for myself, and hopefully inspire someone else to do the same for themselves in the process. 🥰

Stardew Valley! I tend to gravitate towards cozy games I can get lost in (I’m a horror fan too tho!) and Nintendo games (I love my Switch so much). Gaming wasn’t really a hobby I could afford growing up so I also love retro/classic games.

❝How & why did you learn crochet?❞

I got into crochet when I was looking for something to keep me occupied, that I can also do while dealing with flare-ups, and became addicted! I am self-taught, I learned by watching YouTube videos, reading crochet books, and just practising a lot.

❝What is the difference between crocheting and knitting?❞

Queen Martha Stewart sums it up: “At their core, both knitting and crocheting are methods of stitching yarn together—just in different styles. In knitting, the stitches form a “V” shape. In crochet, the stitches are more like knots. Knitting uses a pair of long needles to form the loops, moving a set of loops from one needle to another; the stitches are held on the needle. Crochet uses a single hook to hook the loops together directly on the piece.”

❝Is it hard to crochet with those nails?❞

No lol, I’ve never crocheted without them actually!

❝Do you sell the things that you make?❞

Soon! I’m working on launching my online shop currently. (Click here to sign up for email updates) 🥰

❝Do you make clothes for men too?❞

PRNCSS will be a collection of things I would wear myself. If anything I make speaks to you, then I encourage you to rock it!! There’s really no such thing as “boys clothes” and “girls clothes” in my opinion. Fashion and beauty are about self-expression and self-empowerment! I don’t think anyone should let any dumb “rules” or other people’s self-imposed limitations hold them back from creating and expressing their own personal style! 🩷
